Central Park West Studio

On the top floor of a post-war condominium with an expansive view of Central Park, this studio serves as a small sanctuary for a young, wheelchair-bound client.  The challenge was to make a very small footprint as open as possible to allow for a mobile lifestyle previously rendered impossible by a constrictive layout.  From the roll-in shower to the full-home automation system, the space was planned with a rich, cost-conscious material palette and an eye towards accessibility.
