Renovated as the country home of a young, New York City-based family with a budding art collection, this early 20th century Colonial house in Litchfield County, Connecticut retains its classic exterior appearance while providing contemporary interior spaces. The first and second floors maintain a restrained palette while the attic and basement embrace a wide range of colors and unconventional materials. The center entry hall provides large hanging walls continuing up to the second floor where a new double height gallery space creates an airy connection to an attic level housing a gym, guest bedrooms, playrooms.
